Many Louisiana
The small town of Many (pronounced "Manee") was founded in 1843, and today it is beaming with charm. It is the shopping hub of Sabine Parish, offering lots of different businesses, shops and restaurants to explore. The area has some of the best outdoor recreation with Toledo Bend reservoir nearby with fishing, boating, hiking and more.
Toledo Bend Reservoir is directly west of Many; this massive 185,000 acre lake is a project of the States of Texas and Louisiana, and has both recreational and power generation benefits.

Boating, fishing, skiing, camping, RV resorts and motels are all available on the shores of the reservoir.
Emerald Hills Golf Resort is located across the street from the entrance to the park. The resort offers an 18-hole championship golf course, overnight accommodations and a restaurant. Meeting and conference facilities are also available. Other golfing venues include nearby Cypress Bend Golf Resort.
Other area attractions include North Toledo Bend State Park and Fort Jesup State Historic Site. In neighboring East Texas, other popular recreational areas include Lake Palestine and Lake Tyler.
Hodges Gardens featured 40 acres of manicured gardens, trails, RV facilities, and a fishing lake. It was originally developed designed and opened to the public in 1956 by oil and gas businessman A.J. Hodges. It later became a Louisiana State Park. A change in operator occurred in 2017 and the park closed. Hopefully a solution will be reached to reopen and renovate this historic garden space.
Many is the parish seat of Sabine Parish, located in west Louisiana next to the Texas border, and about 60 miles northwest of the Alexandria metro area.
It is located between Shreveport and Leesville on U.S. Highway 171, and has a population of about 2,600 residents.
Nearby Louisiana towns include Florien, Zwolle, Mansfield, Anacoco, Robeline, and Hornbeck.
