Food, music, history and holidays are being celebrated in festivals and events during 2016 throughout Louisiana, from north to south, east to west.

With some 400 different festivals each year, it’s easy to see why Louisiana is often called the Festival Capital of America. We celebrate just about every crop harvested, every indigenous dish, and every type of music that's played here.

Shown below is a list of highlights of the extensive festival season and major events scheduled in Louisiana during 2016, focusing on long-running festivals and those with widespread appeal.

Check with individual festival promoters to confirm the latest dates, times and other information.
