Kinder is the home of the Coushatta Casino Resort featuring lodging, golf, dining, a luxury RV Resort, and a variety of gaming and gambling opportunities in a 100,000 square foot casino.

Coushatta Casino Resort employs 2,600 people and is an important part of the area's economy.

Kinder is located southwest of Alexandria on U.S. Highway 165 in Allen Parish, and has a population of about 2,500.
